Luke-Elizabeth Gartley is a certified school librarian and recently completed their master’s thesis in the School of Media Studies at The New School. Their research is focused on the intersections of popular culture, media and information literacy, and public engagement with science.

Their work has been published in journals such as Studies in Comics, Dialogue: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Popular Culture and Pedagogy, and World Libraries. They have also contributed model lessons featured in Content Area Collaborations for Secondary Grades edited by Liz Deskins (American Library Association, 2019) and Inquiry and the Common Core: Librarians and Teachers Designing Teaching for Learning edited by Violet Harada and Sharon Coatney (ABC-CLIO, 2013).

They received their M.S. in Library and Information Science from Simmons College and their bachelor’s degree in Media Studies from Emerson College.
